ICT strategies of democratic intermediaries: a view on the political system in the digital age
A conceptual framework is proposed for discussing the ITC strategies of intermediaries and their effects on democratic intermediation. The main line of reasoning is that both 'disintermediation' and 're-intermediation' have to be related to specific models of democracy and styles of citizenship. The linkage strategies of preference intermediaries, the supportive strategies of information intermediaries and the facilitative strategies of interaction intermediaries are discussed. The quality of democracy would be dependent on the interplay between different democratic practices, types of citizenship and intermediaries.

The Municipality of Groningen started in 2005 an elaborated pilot on an interactive community website in the suburb Hoogkerk and later in the small village of Leegkerk.
The target is a functional website to be used by the municipality, the villagers and other groups as a platform for (social) development: services, information, interactive policy making by the municipality, and communication on the village activities.

Zielgruppengerechte Ansprache durch einen konsequenten Medienmix
'Bürgerbeteiligung über das Internet ist kein Selbstzweck, sondern dient bestimmten Zielen wie der Erhöhung der Qualität und der Quantität von Beteiligung.(...) Der Beitrag geht davon aus, dass sich die eingesetzten Medien und Verfahren eines Beteiligungsprozesses nach dem jeweiligen Thema und der Zielgruppe richten sollten, die von dem Projekt mittelbar oder unmittelbar betroffen sind'.

Een onderzoek naar de intentie en het gebruik van e-democratie in de Gemeente Dantumadeel
The document is the result of a research conducted in the Municipality of Dantumadeel in the Province of Fryslân (NL). The aim of the study is to investigate factors which influence the use of local e-democracy through citizens. This research consists of two parts: one part is used to question individual citizens from te village of Zwaagwesteinde, the other part is used to question members of the organization of the Municipality of Dantumadeel: a couple of civil servants, councillors, an elderman and the mayor of the municipality have been interviewed.

Onderzoek Mobieltjesproject Gemeente Dantumadeel
Heeft het mobieltjesproject daadwerkelijk bijgedragen aan een grotere burgerparticipatie onder de deelnemers in Zwaagwesteinde?
Het mobieltjesproject is een heel bijzonder initiatief en een innovatief idee. De jongeren zijn allemaal erg te spreken over de manier waarop de gemeente probeert de burgerparticipatie onder jongeren te vergroten. Na het onderzoek kan geconcludeerd worden dat de burgerparticipatie onder de jongeren helaas niet zo gestegen is als verwacht.
