democracy and the multi media dialogue approach

During the lifetime of the project, the project partners will organise seminars, colloquia and workshops bringing people together to discuss democracy, e-democracy and the multi media dialogue approach advocated by evoice.

symposium (Bremen, Germany)

Media and Method Mix Supporting Local Democracy

The symposium held on 9th and 10th October 2006 and organised by the Institute for Information Management Bremen GmbH (ifib), was the conclusion of the project Media and Method Mix Supporting Local Democracy. Integration of Online Elements in Procedures of Citizen Participation.

The objective of the project has been to gain more realistic picture of whether and how the Internet can be used to support local democracy. The main assumption is that the Internet is only one way for governments to reach the citizens.

expert colloquium (Bremen, Germany)

Synergies of media applications in procedures of local citizen participation

The internet becomes more and more a crucial means to support public participation and communication between citizens, politicians and administrators.

Tools are well-structured information portals, online consultations or online forms to participate in formal planning procedures. In many pilots, lots of internet applications have already been tested, but normally only focusing on this medium alone and not taking into account other, more classical ones.
